Capital Campaign: Phase 2b
Repair & Renovation of Rectory / Office
Phase 2 includes the Repair and Renovation of the Rectory / Office Building (P2b): In consultation with the Bishop and other leaders in the Diocese, it was agreed that Phase 2 fundraising and work needed to happen concurrently to the fundraising and work related to the Adoration Chapel and the Organ.
Several physical issues within the Rectory / Office needed to be resolved during the summer of 2022. The fundraising goal for this phase of the projects, is $130,00.00. As homeowners yourselves you know that not everything can be fixed or renovated at the same time, and often it’s more a matter of doing what you must do in the moment and putting other things off into the future. These past five years have been somewhat similar for us in the parish. You’ll remember that it became necessary to resolve 3 large and expensive concerns in the Rectory / Office: eliminate the termites, resolve water leaks caused by faulty pipes by re-pipping the entire building, and finally, replace all the windows. By the way, replacing the windows has had the added benefit of reducing our energy bills! In addition to these main projects, we continued to address ongoing maintenance issues.
In Phase 2b we addressed the following issues:

In Phase 2b we addressed the following issues:
- Rectory Roof – The tile roof has been deteriorating, with several pieces falling off and leaks which have caused damage within the office and kitchen. As well, the facia is rotting. This is by far, the most expensive and necessary part of the project.
- There are two suites and two bedrooms for Priests and Guests in the Rectory. The bathrooms in 3 of those rooms need to be repaired / renovated.
- The Pastor Suite (currently unoccupied) has cracked and missing tiles in the Shower, damage to the walls from re-pipeing, deterioration of the shower walls and mold in shower stall. As well, the fixtures are 35 years old with the wear and tear you would expect.
- The Parochial Vicar Suite (Fr. Carlos) also has cracked and missing tiles in the Shower, damage to the walls from re-pipeing, deterioration of the shower walls and mold in shower stall. As well, the fixtures are 35 years old with the wear and tear you would expect.
- The Loft / Attic Room (Fr. Blair) has a shower stall which is leaking into the Guest Room, and also has cracked tiles and less, but the same 35 year wear and tear.
- After work had begun it was discovered that two of the three bathrooms had dangerous floor rotting due to water leakage.
- Rectory / Office water damage – The ceilings in the kitchen, living room, 2nd floor hallway, Guest Room, Fr. Carlos room, Pastors Suite, Pastoral Office and Rectory Office all have varying degrees of water damage which must be addressed.
