It is truly BOLD FAITH, clear Vision, and unyielding fidelity to the Mission of Christ that will allow us to cooperate with and fulfill the will of God for our Church going forward; but as well we can’t forget that same BOLD FAITH, clear Vision, and unyielding fidelity to the Mission of Christ in the members of this parish who came before us. So, let’s review the completed projects and repairs that we have accomplished in the past 5 years and remember major work accomplished with Fr. Leon and Fr. Ed.

Parish Plan Initiatives being realized

Now that we have defined the direction we would like our parish to take… how will YOU get us there?, In keeping with the vision of our ancestors, this question is being answered in a variety of ways, that are increasing the faith, social life and vibrancy of the parish community.  Some of the ways our parishioners have been responding or making possible include:
  • Eucharistic Celebrations
    • We hired a new Music Director
    • We are seeing the ‘slow but certain’ development of Choirs.
    • Many of you have commented on the increased beauty that the music program has begun to add to our liturgical celebrations.  Even the Bishop, this past Easter Triduum, expressed how impressed he was with the changes.
    • We are planning for regular times of training and education for our Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and Altar Servers, the first of which occurred in May 2022.
    • We expect even more wonderful developments ahead!

  • Parish Life
    • We have begun to increase the number of Ushers at weekend Eucharistic Celebrations and to formalize the group as well as to clarify their role.
    • We have joined with the City Rescue Mission in aide to the poor among our neighbors.
    • We have begun a Men’s Ministry
    • We have made Formed.org available to all parishioners for their family faith formation and education in addition to continuing Catechetical educational seminars as well as Fr. Martin’s Bible Study and we plan to increase these sorts of faith formation and education opportunities.

  • Grounds
    • We have continued to increase the beauty of landscaping surrounding the Church, the garden at the Duval St. parking lot and in the Courtyard.
    • We have added new security cameras
    • We have increased the security of the Gate which will lead to the Chapel and increased the security of the Gate and fence system at the Ocean St. side entrance to the Church.

  • Finances
    • We have stabilized our Parish Expenses under control and set a firm foundation for good stewardship of your financial support of your Parish.
    • We resolved all immediate physical issues with the Church as well as other unexpected but urgent physical issues with the Rectory / Parish Office.
    • We accomplished these things without increasing the debt of the Church.
    • We increased our savings and endowment fund.
    • We accomplished much of this while also suffering a decrease in attendance and financial contributions at Mass during the past two years, primarily due to the impact of COVID-19
