It's an honor for us, here at the Basilica, to help you in this part of your marriage preparation and formation. As you know, your wedding day is very important because it is the culmination of your marriage preparation together in the Church and the beginning of your sacramental lives together as a new family. It is also very important because it is an opportunity for you and those who are helping you to plan this day, to even more deeply understand how this is a testimony of your faith and an opportunity of evangelization of those who will help you celebrate your love for each other, with Christ as the most important relationship that each of you will ever have and how central and indispensable that relationship is to your marriage.

"An annulment is a declaration by a Church tribunal (a Catholic church court) that a marriage thought to be valid according to Church law actually fell short of at least one of the essential elements required for a binding union."
