The Sacrament of Baptism
The Sacrament of Baptism can be celebrated during or after the Sunday Eucharistic Celebrations. First time parents will be required to attend a Faith Formation & Education Seminar / Meeting, prior to having a child baptized. For more information click here.
The Sacrament of Penance (or Reconciliation/Confession)
Not only does it [the Sacrament of Penance] free us from our sins but it also challenges us to have the same kind of compassion and forgiveness for those who sin against us. We are liberated to be forgivers. We obtain new insight into the words of the Prayer of St. Francis: "It is in pardoning that we are pardoned."
Jesus entrusted the ministry of reconciliation to the Church. The Sacrament of Penance is God's gift to us so that any sin committed after Baptism can be forgiven. In confession we have the opportunity to repent and recover the grace of friendship with God. It is a holy moment in which we place ourselves in his presence and honestly acknowledge our sins, especially mortal sins. With absolution, we are reconciled to God and the Church. The Sacrament helps us stay close to the truth that we cannot live without God. "In him we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28).

The Sacraments of First Reconciliation,
First Holy Communion & Confirmation
Religious Education
The Religious Education Program enhances and builds upon the parent responsibility to form and educate their children in faith, in accord with their promises at the baptism of their child and Church teaching. The diocese requires that parishes help to directly form and educate children in preparation to receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation / Communion & Confirmation. First Reconciliation is usually received a few months before First Holy Communion, which is usually received in the spring of the year that the child reaches the age of 7 and is in the second grade. Confirmation is currently received during 8th grade. Visit the Religious Education for First Sacraments section of this website for more info.
