Fr. Ed Murphy

Fr. Murphy was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He is one of five children and attended Catholic parochial schools. Fr. Murphy graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1977. In 1983 he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Christendom College, small Catholic liberal arts college in northern Virginia. For a year, Fr. Murphy worked in banking and retail before entering the seminary. He went to St. Meinrad Seminary in southern Indiana and St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, Florida where he earned a Masters of Art in Theology summa cum laude and a Masters of Divinity. A native of the Archdiocese of Boston, Deacon De Luca was ordained a permanent deacon by Bishop Victor Galeone on June 3, 2006.  Shortly after his ordination he was appointed by Bishop Galeone to serve as a pastoral associate at Immaculate Conception Church. Concurrently, Deacon DeLuca serves as an administrator of Bishop Kenny High School , Jacksonville, FL where he is the Director of Religious Education and Campus Ministry.  Additionally, he also serves on the faculty of the Diocesan Ministry Formation Program ; Chairperson of Clergy Education for the Diocese of St. Augustine and is an adjunct Instructor of Theology for St. Leo’s University.  Read More
